In The News: First the Toyota Gas Pedals…Now the Lexus Rollover?

First, we heard about Toyota’s woes as millions of vehicles were recalled due to a safety issue related to the gas pedals. But now, recent reports are surfacing about the Lexus GX being deemed as ‘unsafe’ for drivers due to its issues with rollover incidents. According to an article published by The Associated Press (AP):
Starting at about $52,000, the GX 460 is a small-volume vehicle for Lexus, Toyota Motor Corp.’s luxury brand. It went on sale in November and only about 5,000 have been sold since then. But the warning represents yet another blow for Toyota’s tarnished reputation for safety Read the Rest…

Video: Couple is ‘Dying’ to Drive Their Toyota

Now, I’ve heard of couples fighting over who has to drive when it comes to long road trips; and nine times out of ten it ends up that they simply opt to use an auto transport company versus having to drive at all. However, what I haven’t seen is a couple that fights over who actually gets to drive their car.  The following video is a cleverly-put-together commercial that shows the humor in just how far one couple is willing to go to sabotage each other’s chances of getting to drive their Toyota Rav 4…

4 Steps to Reduce Road Rage

Contrary to popular belief, most vehicle accidents are completely avoidable. And perhaps more surprising is the fact that many accidents are actually self perpetuated by a driver who is “having a bad day” and therefore, is not focusing as they should behind the wheel of their car. The Danger Zone
I’m not saying that I’m perfect. Sure, I’ve had my share of “texting while driving” moments. But, I’ve also had my share of close Read the Rest…

This summer, my friends are thinking of taking a road trip to visit one of our other friends who lives in Arizona. I’ve been invited along, but before I make any decisions, I am most definitely going to be studying up on basic automotive maintenance. After all, even if you are traveling with a group of people by car, there is still the risk with long distance travel that something may happen to your vehicle. In the event of an emergency, it really pays to know a thing or two about cars.
Familiarizing yourself with how a vehicle works is one Read the Rest…

In The News: Safety on the Roadways is Still Cause for Concern

According to the Global Status Report on Road Safety, published by the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1.3 million people die each year on the world’s roadways, while as many as fifty million people are injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents each year. The report goes on to state:
The results show that road traffic injuries remain an important public health problem, particularly for low-income and middle-income countries. Pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists make up almost half of those killed on the roads, highlighting the need for these road users to be given more attention in road safety programmes.
