First off, I apologize for the size this photo…but I really wanted to leave it this large because, well…I think it is hilarious.

Oh, Brit-Brit, how your past is coming back to haunt you.  If you haven’t heard, Britney Spears is likely to be on her way to trial for the long past charge of driving without a valid California license, and for subsequently hitting a parked car and driving away.  Spears is slated to be in court on October 15th, the date being set by Judge T.K. Herman.  Spears lawyer is arguing that the mother of two, ex-pop singer, is being treated in a manner which is harsher then necessary.  He argues that she should be allowed to pay a 10 dollar fine and be done with it, but according to the AP the higher ups aren’t having it:

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James A. Steele cited Spears’ celebrity status during an in-chambers meeting as a reason for not reducing the case to an infraction.

“He says, ‘But I’ve never done that before. I’d hate to do it the first time and do it for Britney Spears because then it would appear like she’s getting special treatment,’” Flanagan recounted Steele telling him.

It seems Spears is getting her life back together, and I honestly don’t know that I care to hear about the legal woes of Britney Spears anymore then I have to.  I mean hey, this is America, we let O.J. go for killing two people, why even bother with Britney?
