Gas Prices May Be Down, but Don’t Get Your Hopes Up Just Yet!
I almost fainted a few days ago when I drove by a gas station and saw the price listed at $2.99 for regular unleaded. I actually had to turn my car around and drive past it again just to make sure. Yup, the gas prices are lowering, but with oil at $67 a barrel, it should be lower. But wait a minute, if the oil is that cheap, then why are we still paying $2.99 a gallon? Where is the other $2 going?
Greedy Gas Stations
It would appear that many gas stations are trying to make an extra buck off of unsuspecting customers. Lately, I have been using this fantastic site which lists where the cheapest gas in the area is, so last week I found myself waiting in line for gas at one of the first gas stations in the area to sell gas for under $3. At that time, all of the other stations were selling gas for around $3.24. When I finally pulled up to the pump, I asked the attendant why their gas station was so cheap to which he responded:
Well, we know what the price of the gas is that we’re purchasing and unlike a lot of the other gas stations, we’re just not hiking the prices as much.
Unbelievable. Isn’t it a shame to think that gas stations can get away with such a thing? All I know is that I’m going to try to enjoy the lower prices while I can because, well…you never know!

That’s really a shame that they are selling gas at such a huge price for around $3.24. We would like to know how you are managing gas sell for under $3. It will help others to get the gas prices lower.
