We take this as a given. However, the fact that roads were almost exclusively designed by men certainly plays a part. I have absolutely no idea what would happen if roads were designed by women but it would definitely be totally different. It also depends on how you define a 'bad driver'. The point of driving is to get from a to b as fast as possible without damaging anything. That is why the car was invented.
