Ryan Capes Sets World Record with Motorcycle Jump

It seems as if the world cannot get enough of those who risk their lives just for a thrill. And the latest thrill-seeker is Ryan Capes.  According to a recent article published in Auto Racing Daily, the Grand Sierra Resort was packed with curious onlookers who were hoping to see something spectacular come out of Ryan Capes in the way of a motorcycle jump, and they were not disappointed.

Capes was attempting to set a world record for a ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jump. In his first attempt at the jump, he cleared 287 feet.  However, he had promised the crowd a 300-foot jump, which he more than delivered on his next attempt.  He wound up jumping 316 feet, setting a new world record for a ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jump.

According to some reports, there were at least 5,000 onlookers in attendance; but some are arguing that it was closer to 9,000 curious people who came out to watch this spectacle.  To see just how awesome of a jump Capes made, someone was gracious enough to take the following video of the actual event:
