Tips/Advice: Flight Delays and How to Deal With Them
“Ladies and gentlemen, we regret to inform you..” has to be the WORST words you can hear when you’re at the gate waiting to board your plane. Worst still is if you hear these words after you’ve just buckled your seatbelt and are already on the plane waiting to take off.
No worries. Regardless of whether you’re flying from New York to California or from Brazil to Peru; the next time you have to deal with flight delays, take the following advice into consideration.
- Avoid airlines and flights where delays are common.
- Arrange flight notifications.
- Avoid connecting flights if possible.
- Avoid the last flight of the day.
- Arrive early and check in.
- Expect delays.
If you are delayed, remember to:
- Keep your cool.
- Be patient.
- Call the reservations center.
- Know your rights (or lack thereof) as a delayed passenger.
- Ask to see a customer agent if you are still not satisfied.
