Tips/Advice: Preparing your vehicle for auto transport
Whether you are new to using a car shipping company or if you are a seasoned ‘expert’, there are still a few things to consider when preparing your vehicle for car shipping. Take a look at some of the auto transport advice offered below.
Preparing Your Vehicle For Auto Transport:
When preparing your vehicle for auto transport, it is important to remember some of the following:
- WASH your vehicle
- CLEAN out the interior
- FILL the gas tank so that there is at least a quarter of a tank (in the event that the car carriers have to move your car)
- DON’T put extra items in your vehicle prior to car shipping (i.e. luggage, personal affects, etc.)
Other things that some car shipping companies may require include (but are not limited to):
- Disable the car alarm.
- Secure any customized accessories to your vehicle (i.e. spoilers, fog lights, ground effects).
- Consider enclosed vehicle shipping for convertibles so that unnecessary moisture doesn’t get into the vehicle.
- Check your vehicle’s fluids, tire pressure and battery charge to make sure that everything is in good, working order.
- If your car does not start up right away or if there is are any other quirks about your vehicle, make a note of it and let your car carrier know.
Some other car shipping companies may have other prerequisites before they will agree to ship your vehicle(s). However, at National Transport, LLC, we don’t require our customers to do a single thing. All you have to do is sit back and relax and allow us to transport your vehicles from your doorstep to your destination.
