Trying to Cut a Deal

Despite the fact that bankruptcy is looming over their heads, the big 3 are still trying to lure car drivers and car buyers alike to the dealerships…but how? According to ABC NEWS, with nearly 2,000 dealerships selling off their inventory before shutting down, bargains are expected on retail lots from coast to coast. ABC News continues:

Some dealerships, like Schepel Cadillac Hummer in Merriville, Indiana, have extended last months incentives through Wednesday. Grand Pontiac Buick & GMC in Denver was offering 0 percent financing for 72 months.

Reality Check

If it is one thing that people should’ve learned by now, it’s that they really need to think through whether or not they need a new vehicle let alone a vehicle at all.  The last time I checked, the American economy was in the dumps and in need of a major overhaul.  One of the biggest things that was dragging us down was our automotive industry.

Today, there are more people than ever resorting to things such as auto transport to get their cars from place to place as well as carpooling and other forms of exercise such as riding their bicycles to work, walking or running.  In my opinion, the automotive industry tanking is, perhaps, one of the best things that has happened to the United States.
