Since 1975, BMW of North America has been a leading importer of BMW vehicles to the United States. But as most BMW enthusiasts know, owning a BMW extends well beyond the sticker price. Regardless of whether or not you purchase your BMW in the United States or whether you use an auto transport company to have your BMW shipped to you from elsewhere in the world, owning a BMW is a lifestyle choice.

BMW - A Vehicle Like No Other

Some BMW owners argue that it's the hard work and dedication of its engineers. Some argue that it's the proven technology used. And some claim that it's simply due to the fine hand-crafted workmanship of engineers who don't cut corners that makes the BMW such a great vehicle to own and drive. But whatever the reason, one thing remains true: BMW is always improving its image with top of the line vehicles that most certainly measure up against the competition.

From sporty sedans to crossovers and hybrids, BMW has been creating quality vehicles since the company was first founded back in 1916. That said, auto lovers alike can keep up with the latest BMW news by checking out the following two resources:

History of BMW
The popular car manufacturing company, Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW), actually did not get its start as a manufacturer of cars. Surprisingly, it started as a manufacturer of aircraft engines. BMW began its operations in the year 1913 under the name of the Rapp-Motorenwerke firm. In its early days, BMW mainly manufactured engines for aircrafts and, occasionally, for motorcycles. The original BMW badge was designed to resemble an aircraft propeller.
In 1922, the Rapp-Motorenwerke firm merged with the Bayerische Flugzeugwerke factory, which was located near Munich. This merge started the car manufacturing career of BMW. In 1929, the firm officially became a car manufacturer after purchasing the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach factory which produced Austin Sevens. In the year 1936, BMW started to produce the popular 328 sports car, which would become one of its most well known and successful models to date.
During World War II, BMW focused again on aircraft engines and stopped making cars. Therefore, the company did not produce another car until 1952. At this time, BMW launched the 501 luxury car. Unfortunately, however, this car was not a big hit with consumers.
Over the decades, BMW’s luck changed, and it began to build a solid reputation. The launch of cars like the BMW 1500, the BMW 2002, and the 3, 5, and 7 series brought the company success. Today, BMW possesses a reputation for excellence in car manufacturing.

Confused about Car Shipping?

"
They brought my car from California to Buffalo in 3 days. The whole process took 1 week. Great service. You should be in touch with the driver to know when exactly he will be at the destination because these guys are really fast and might deliver the car a bit too early.

National Transport did a great job. The driver was timely, called several times both before pick-up and prior to delivery to inform me of his status. Completing the paperwork took a few minutes. I would recommend National Transport and plan to use them again.
