The company started out slow and within a few short months after the company became a corporation, the company suffered severe financial problems. Bought out by Flint Wagon Works.
A test model finally hit the road for a trial drive. The model was a success and it was decided The Buick Motor Company was ready for production. Struck by financial woes again soon after, the company received a bailout from a man names William Durant. William was not very fond of the automobile. He had bought the rights for the first suspension equipped wagon.
The impression left in William’s mind after he noticed how much potential there was for the automobile was great enough to send him to the New York Auto show in 1905. The success was huge. He sold over 1,000 cars. By 1908, the company had sold more cars than any other manufacturer that year.
